Newegg.com Selects Affiliate Marketing Partner Commission Junction; Top 10 Online Retailer Selects Global Industry Leader for Its First-Ever Outsourced Affiliate Marketing Program
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 19, 2006–Top internet retailer Newegg Inc., the operator of the award-winning www.newegg.com web site, is launching its affiliate marketing program with ValueClick Inc.’s (Nasdaq:VCLK) Commission Junction, the leading global provider of affiliate marketing solutions.
Newegg.com is a fast-growing, award-winning e-commerce company specializing in providing consumers and businesses with solutions for a comprehensive digital lifestyle. Newegg’s rapid growth, superior shopping experience and industry-leading customer service team have been widely recognized in the technical community as well as among mainstream press.
“We chose to go with Commission Junction due to their superior technology, deep experience in our industry and network of the industry’s top performing publishers,” said Howard Tong, Newegg VP. “Commission Junction is known for its network quality and commitment to customers and we look forward to a long, prosperous relationship.”
Newegg.com is using Commission Junction’s CJ Vantage(TM) and CJ Associate(TM) services. The two programs are designed to manage and optimize advertisers’ affiliate programs by implementing best practices and leveraging Commission Junction’s network of over 50,000 productive publishers. Newegg.com will also leverage Commission Junction’s product catalog and item-based commission functionalities. The product catalog functionality will provide publishers up-to-date data on Newegg.com’s products, while item-based commissions will allow Newegg.com to easily manage their diverse margins.
“Newegg.com grew to approximately $1.3 billion in annual sales in its first five years of operation. We are proud to have a company with such explosive growth select us to assist them in managing and fueling continued growth,” said Tom Vadnais, president of ValueClick U.S. and general manager of Commission Junction and Mediaplex. “We are confident that our network of publishers and deep experience in performance marketing for consumer electronics will help them achieve their marketing goals.”
The addition of Newegg.com to Commission Junction’s client base marks the addition of yet another “Top 10” retailer, based on the 2006 edition of Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites. Of the “Top 10” retailers who have third-party programs, half are Commission Junction clients — more than any other provider. Commission Junction is used by more of the Top 500 online retailers than the next two affiliate marketing providers combined, and is dominant in the Computers/Electronics category, under which Newegg.com operates, servicing 11 of the 15 largest retailers in the category.
